Our History

VaxPro was founded in 2006 with a mission to bring customized flu shot vaccination clinics to corporate employees. In 2021, we became certified vaccinators for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to provide COVID-19 vaccinations. We have grown this on-site clinic concept over the years and we now provide wellness clinics to businesses located throughout Wisconsin.

Our motto is "no one waits in line for a VaxPro flu shot."

VaxPro's nurses are experienced RNs and LPNs specially trained to run our clinics. Everyone on our nursing team is HIPAA certified and has completed bloodborne pathogen training along with VaxPro's clinic orientation. This is a preferred practice for VaxPro rather than hiring nurses from temporary agencies (a common practice from competitors).

VaxPro has expanded our services to include:

  • online pre-registration for patient appointments
  • paperless registration at clinic sites using smart phones or tablets for same day "drop-ins"
  • timely vaccination reporting to the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR)
  • Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) testing suited for employees working in healthcare-related environments (e.g. hospitals), senior centers and schools.
  • a wider variety of vaccinations like hepatitis B and shingles

VaxPro's co-founders, Jay and Steve, work closely with customers to provide a quality wellness experience. They will be with you every step of the way beginning with contract signing through clinic scheduling and end-of-clinic reporting.

About The Owners

Steven Nye

Background

Steve is a co-founder and the Vice President of VaxPro. A Milwaukee Wisconsin native, he now works full time at VaxPro, after recently retiring from his science career. Steve is an avid cyclist, hockey fan and enjoys gardening and home repair.

Jay Plavnick

Background

Jay is a co-founder and the President of VaxPro. A Milwaukee Wisconsin native, Jay has been a pharmacist for over 30 years and has had numerous experiences implementing immunization programs in pharmacies and onsite flu clinics. Jay is an avid golfer, sports fan and automobile enthusiast.
