National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit

The National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit (NAIIS) was held May 18 in Atlanta, GA.

-This year the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) changed their focus from vaccine effectiveness and prior season recaps to the importance of vaccination

-They do not recommend one flu product over another for the 2018-2019 Flu season

-They will be launching a new Lifespan Campaign that will focus on improving vaccination rates among:

Children 6 months – 11 years
Teens and young adults
Pregnant Women
Adults w/chronic conditions
Adults (otherwise healthy)
Aging adults (50-64)
Older adults (65+)
Health Care Providers
